This year\u2019s festival features an expanded lineup of events, innovative new challenges and a growing number of participants, ensuring an unforgettable experience, according to the organisers Basecamp Outdoor Lifestyle<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alongside the 30K and 15K trail races and the 5K and 2K Yeti Obstacle Runs for adults and kids, the seventh Godavari Running Festival will feature exciting new activities. The Yeti Run, an off-road challenge, includes a mud crawl, rope climb, wall, slides and tyre flips. Festival Co-founder Paresh Shrestha announced that there will be 3-on-3 basketball games and bouldering to attract a broader audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n More than 400 participants are expected at the seventh iteration. The event has gained attention from both local and international runners, including elite ultra-runners, raising its prestige. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled by the growing interest, especially from international runners. It shows we\u2019re on the right track,\u201d Shrestha said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While new additions bring new logistical challenges, the organisers remain confident. \u201cExpanding events means rethinking everything\u2014from safety management to route design,\u201d he said. \u201cBut we’re committed to creating a festival everyone can enjoy, whether you’re a competitive runner or just here for fun.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The festival routes, centred around the scenic Godavari area and Phulchowki Hills, are designed to offer both technical difficulty and enjoyment, Shrestha explained. Steep climbs and forest trails challenge serious runners, while accessible paths cater to families and beginners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The festival\u2019s growth over the years stems from local engagement and international partnerships. Collaborations with local schools like St. Xavier\u2019s and sponsorships from global brands such as La Sportiva<\/strong><\/a> and Suunto<\/a> <\/strong>have elevated the festival’s profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019re building a community-focused event with strong local ties while also positioning Godavari as a prime destination for outdoor sports,\u201d he said, assuring that there would be adequate safety measures in place to ensure a smooth experience for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Safety remains the top priority, particularly in the festival\u2019s more technical sections, he continued.
